Oman Air Sees 3x Growth in Direct Flight Passengers by 2025

In June 2024, Oman Air had about 75,000 passengers flying on its direct routes. Just one year later, in June 2025, the number grew to 200,000. This is a very big jump and shows how well the airline has improved its service and routes. A threefold increase in passengers in just 12 months is a huge achievement for any airline.

Direct Flights Bring More Visitors to Oman

Oman Air’s direct flights are not just increasing in number—they are also bringing more visitors directly to the country. About 58 percent of the airline’s total passengers in June 2025 were people who arrived directly in Oman. This shows that the airline’s focus on direct flights is having a real impact.

By offering more non-stop routes to Oman, the airline is making it easier for travelers to visit the country without long layovers or stopovers in other cities. This helps make Oman a more attractive and accessible destination for both tourists and business travelers.

Mike Rutter, who is the Chief Commercial Officer at Oman Air, said this strong growth is the result of detailed planning. The airline made changes to the way it plans its routes and how it promotes them to travelers around the world. This means they chose smart locations for new flights and used marketing to encourage more people to visit Oman.

According to Rutter, these steps were part of a bigger plan to grow the airline’s business and make it stronger financially. By focusing on direct travel, Oman Air was able to attract more tourists and make travel more convenient.

Rutter also said that this increase in passenger numbers is good for the company’s financial health. When more people fly directly with Oman Air, the company earns more money from ticket sales and services.
