A very important conference is taking place in Oman to talk about how emerging technologies can help improve higher education. This two-day event brings together experts from Oman and other countries to share their thoughts on how new digital tools are changing the way people teach and learn at universities.

The main topic of the conference is how universities can use digital transition to become more modern, smart, and future-ready. Digital transition means moving from old-style learning methods to new, tech-based methods that include things like artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and virtual environments.

Conference Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Nadir bin Al Julanda bin Majid Al Said, who serves as the Secretary General at the Diwan of Royal Court. The event took place in a formal setting, highlighting its importance to the future of Oman’s education system.

During the ceremony, speakers welcomed all the attendees and explained why it’s important to keep up with modern technology in education. They talked about how the future of learning depends on how well we use and understand new tools and systems.

Who Is Attending the Conference?

The conference is attended by 35 specialists, both from Oman and from other countries. These experts are coming from different areas such as education, technology, business, and government. They have come together to discuss the latest ideas, exchange experiences, and suggest new ways to use technology in higher education.

The goal is to learn from each other and to build strong plans that can help universities become smarter and more connected to the world.

What the Conference Aims to Achieve

This event has five main sessions that cover a variety of important subjects. These sessions aim to discuss how emerging technologies—especially artificial intelligence—can improve teaching and learning experiences. They also look at how these technologies affect ethics, communication, human development, and future career skills.

Each session has its own focus, and all of them are important for helping universities become modern and efficient.

First Session: AI and Digital Tools in Omani Universities

The first session of the conference talks about the future of digital applications and how AI (Artificial Intelligence) can help in Omani universities. It also covers topics such as financial innovation and strategic visions for higher education. This means using AI not only for teaching but also for managing money, planning programs, and making smart decisions in universities.

Experts in this session explain how Oman can use these tools to compete with the rest of the world and build stronger institutions for the next generation.

Second Session: Human-Based AI and Digital Transition

The second session discusses the idea of digital transition in education. It talks about how AI can be used not just as a machine or software but in a way that works with human needs. This is called human-based AI. It focuses on creating smart systems that respect students’ learning styles, needs, and emotions.

This session shows how education is not only about machines or data but also about people—and how we can design better systems to serve them.

Third Session: Smart Learning with AI, IoT, and Virtual Tools

The third session looks at innovative learning solutions. It highlights how AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), and virtual environments are being used to create smarter classrooms. For example, students can now use virtual reality headsets to visit historical sites or perform science experiments without leaving the classroom.

This session shows that learning can be fun, exciting, and realistic when new technology is used in smart ways.

Fourth Session: Technology and Ethics in Education

The fourth session talks about the ethical side of technology. As universities use more AI and digital tools, it is important to ask: Are these tools fair? Do they protect students’ privacy? Are they used in a responsible way?

Speakers discuss how to make sure that technology does not harm people and that it follows ethical values. They also explore how innovation must be balanced with human rights, respect, and fairness.

Fifth Session: Language, Games, and Educational AI

The fifth session focuses on the use of AI in languages and storytelling. This includes AI tools that help students learn new languages or understand grammar better. It also looks at how games and digital stories are being used in classrooms to make learning more interactive.

Some experts even talk about how video games and gaming consoles are now part of educational environments. These can be powerful tools to help students learn in a fun and modern way.

Virtual Sessions as Part of the Event

In addition to the five main sessions, the conference also includes three virtual sessions. These are held online and allow people who cannot attend in person to take part. The virtual sessions cover advanced topics such as

  1. "Strategic Transformation from Green Competencies to Smart Decision-Making"—This "session discusses how skills related to environmental awareness can be turned into smart, technology-based decisions.

  2. "Artificial Intelligence, Industry 4.0, and Advanced Intelligence Systems for Resilience, Security, and Interoperability"—This "session talks about how AI can help industries become stronger and more secure.

  3. "Digital Transition and Human-based Innovation in Health, Justice, and Markets"—This "session focuses on how digital tools are transforming healthcare, justice systems, and business markets.

These topics show that the conference is not just about education but also about how AI is shaping other parts of society.

Student Exhibition Highlights Creativity

On the sidelines of the conference, a special student exhibition is also taking place. This exhibition is an exciting part of the event because it shows what students are doing with emerging technologies. Many young people have presented creative projects that show how technology can be used in real-life situations.

These projects come from different study areas, such as

  • Information technology

  • Humanities

  • Business administration

  • Economics

  • English language studies

This exhibition gives students a chance to share their ideas and learn from others. It also helps universities see the value of student-led innovation in shaping the future.

A Step Toward a Smarter Future

This conference is a big step forward for Oman’s higher education system. By focusing on emerging technologies, Oman is preparing its universities and students for the challenges and opportunities of the future. The event brings together minds from all over the world and creates a space where ideas can grow.

The discussions, sessions, and exhibitions all show that technology and education are closely linked. With the help of AI, digital tools, and smart thinking, the future of learning in Oman—and around the world—can be more engaging, ethical, and effective.
