New figures released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information show that Oman’s telecommunications sector continued to grow strongly until the end of October 2025. The total number of mobile service subscriptions reached more than 8 million, showing an increase of over 11 percent compared to the same time last year. Postpaid mobile users saw a small rise, while prepaid subscriptions also recorded steady growth, reflecting strong demand for mobile services across the country.
The data also highlights a major rise in IoT services, with machine-to-machine subscriptions jumping sharply to more than 1.5 million. Internet usage in Oman also showed positive growth. Active mobile broadband subscriptions crossed 5.4 million, while fixed broadband connections increased steadily, supported by rising demand for faster and more reliable internet access.
High-speed internet services continued to expand, with FTTH subscriptions growing by more than 12 percent. Fixed 5G connections saw a slight increase, while fixed 4G subscriptions dropped sharply, showing a shift toward newer technologies. At the same time, older internet services such as ADSL continued to decline as users moved to faster options.
Satellite internet subscriptions recorded strong growth, although other internet services like power line and leased lines saw a drop. Overall, the data confirms steady expansion in Oman telecom growth, driven by higher mobile subscriptions, increased use of broadband services, and rapid adoption of advanced digital solutions.
