Two Omani men have sadly lost their lives in a drowning accident at Wadi Al Hoqain in Rustaq. The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) confirmed this on Sunday.
Rescue teams from the CDAA’s South Al Batinah division quickly arrived at the scene and managed to pull both bodies out of the water. Unfortunately, both men had already died when they were found.
The reason why they drowned is not clear yet. The authorities have not given any more details about what caused the accident.
This sad event comes just a few days after a similar incident in eastern Oman. Two twin brothers, Al Hassan and Al Husain Al Masoodi, drowned while swimming in a pool at Wadi Bani Khalid. This is a popular natural spot in Oman, known for its flowing water and beautiful rock formations all year round.
