OnePlus 15R Poised for Launch in India Featuring Snapdragon 8 Elite

OnePlus 15R Poised for Launch in India Featuring Snapdragon 8 Elite

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Following the recent debut of the OnePlus 15, anticipation is building for the release of the OnePlus 15R in India. The company's official website has listed the product page, confirming it will run on Android 16 with OxygenOS 16 pre-installed. It's anticipated that the 15R is a rebranded model of the OnePlus Ace 6, which was recently unveiled in China.

Design and Display

The OnePlus 15R is anticipated to feature a substantial 6.83-inch LTPS AMOLED display, delivering FHD+ resolution (2800×1272 pixels) with an impressive peak brightness level of 1800 nits. Users can expect smooth performance with a refresh rate reaching up to 165Hz during certain activities. The design is likely to omit the conventional alert slider, introducing instead a customizable Plus Key that was first seen in the OnePlus 13 series.

Performance and Storage

Power for the 15R will likely come from the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage variants may range from 256GB to 512GB, and also include a remarkable 1TB UFS 4.1 offering, providing ample room for apps, games, and media files.

Cameras

For photography lovers, the 15R is expected to feature a 50MP wide-angle rear lens equipped with OIS and an additional 8MP ultra-wide sensor. A 16MP front camera is likely to cater to selfies and video calls. Unlike its predecessor, this model may lack a telephoto lens, and it's still unclear if the new DetailMax Engine will take the place of the Hasselblad image processing seen in the flagship OnePlus 15.

Battery and Charging

The OnePlus 15R may be powered by a 7,800mAh battery capable of supporting 120W wired charging. Consistent with earlier R-series iterations, it may not feature wireless charging options.

With its impressive specifications like a 165Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite, and large battery, the OnePlus 15R appears set to attract fans seeking premium flagship performance at a more accessible price. Its streamlined design and innovative Plus Key are also likely to resonate with OnePlus enthusiasts who value both aesthetics and practicality in their devices.
