Brisbane and various areas across Queensland have returned to normal as the National Broadband Network (NBN) services are fully restored following a notable Optus outage. This was confirmed by the company, which is part of Singapore Telecommunications, on its website on Thursday.
The outage affected a large number of residents and businesses, causing issues from slow speeds to complete loss of service in some regions. Many customers experienced challenges with essential online services, significantly disrupting their daily activities.
Technicians dedicated their efforts over the weekend to locate the problem impacting both personal and commercial NBN connections. Although Optus has not disclosed specific details on the outage's cause, users were recommended to reboot their modems and monitor service updates on the company's site.
With services restored, Brisbane businesses are anticipated to return to their usual routines, while residents can now enjoy uninterrupted online education, streaming, and work-from-home activities.
This incident underscores Australia's heavy dependency on telecom infrastructure and the necessity for proactive maintenance and planning by network service providers.
