Paris Jackson, at 27, has candidly shared insights into her ongoing battle with addiction and a related health issue that she continues to manage as she stays sober. In a heartfelt social media video, which gained traction on TikTok, she highlighted her perforated septum—a hole in the cartilage between her nostrils—that some fans may have noticed in past clips.
Utilizing her phone’s flashlight to shed light on the hole, she warned, “It is from what you think it’s from… kids, don’t do drugs.” While she made a light joke about potentially passing a spaghetti noodle through it, Jackson emphasized the severe impact drugs had on her life, stating, “Drugs ruined my life.”
Having been nearly six years sober, Jackson has dealt with the condition since the age of 20. Although recording music can be a challenge due to her septum, she has chosen to avoid surgery, fearing the drugs involved in recovery.
Her remarks came after receiving the Shining Star Award at the Friendly House Awards Luncheon, where she reflected on her sobriety journey. “I’m truly grateful to contribute to a movement that aligns so well with my purpose and essence of daily reprieve,” she expressed. “Encouraging conscious connections has been the most significant action for me, and I hope to keep helping others.”
As the daughter of pop legend Michael Jackson, Paris is accompanied by her brothers, Prince Michael Jackson, 28, and Bigi Jackson (previously Blanket), 23, as the sole heirs of the late King of Pop.
By sharing her journey, Jackson underscores the ongoing challenges of addiction and its long-term effects, aiming to advocate for awareness around substance abuse and inspire healthier choices among her audience.
