Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is officially returning as the stylish spy Pathaan, with the sequel now confirmed. The announcement came during his recent visit to Dubai at a public event, ending months of speculation about the franchise’s future.
The reveal took place at a real estate launch where a tower named after Shah Rukh Khan was inaugurated. On stage, the developer announced that Pathaan 2 is in development. Fans immediately shared clips online, celebrating the news and predicting that the sequel will begin production next year, following the release of Alia Bhatt’s ‘Alpha’.
Pathaan 2 is expected to be shot extensively in Chile, following discussions between Yash Raj Films and Chilean authorities. The film will continue Pathaan’s story while setting up a major crossover with Salman Khan’s Tiger, creating anticipation for future entries in the YRF Spy Universe.
During the Dubai event, Shah Rukh Khan also reflected on his recent milestones. He shared that being honoured internationally, having a bronze statue in London, winning a National Award, and now having a building named after him in Dubai, has been a life-changing experience, making his parents proud from heaven.
Industry insiders suggest Pathaan 2 will go on floors next year, with the Chile schedule highlighting the country’s scenic beauty. The sequel aims to maintain the franchise’s global appeal while building hype for the upcoming Tiger vs Pathaan clash. Fans are excited as the film promises action, international locations, and the return of one of Bollywood’s most popular spy characters.
