Qatar Airways to Run Limited Flights Until March 17

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Dubai: Qatar Airways has confirmed that it will operate a limited number of flights over the next few days after the closure of Qatari airspace forced the airline to halt most of its services.

The disruption has affected thousands of travellers, leaving many waiting for updates about their flights and travel arrangements.

Temporary permission for select flights

The airline said it received temporary approval from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority to operate flights through restricted air corridors. These flights are mainly being arranged to help passengers whose journeys were interrupted due to the sudden suspension of operations.

Limited operations until March 17

According to the airline, the special flight schedule will run from March 13 to March 17. The goal is to gradually assist stranded passengers and allow them to continue their travel plans.

The airline clarified that these flights should not be considered a return to normal services. Full flight operations will resume only when authorities confirm that the airspace is safe to reopen.

Passengers selected for these flights will be contacted directly by the airline. Travellers have also been advised not to visit the airport unless they have a confirmed booking.

Flexible options for affected passengers

To support travellers impacted by the disruption, the airline has introduced flexible travel options for passengers with bookings between February 28 and March 28.

Passengers can:

  • Change their travel date free of charge until April 30 when rebooking on Qatar Airways flights

  • Request a refund for the unused value of their ticket

Travellers can manage their bookings and check the latest updates through the airline’s website or mobile application. The airline says these platforms are the fastest way for passengers to modify their travel plans while the disruption continues.

Authorities are still evaluating conditions before confirming when normal airspace operations will fully resume.
