The trailer for Dhurandhar, showcasing Ranveer Singh's dynamic return to cinema, was launched by the creators at an event in Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon. This dark, action-oriented spy thriller instantly grabs attention with its intense atmosphere, stunning visuals, and Ranveer's fierce transformation, drawing parallels to his iconic Alauddin Khilji character.
Kicking off with a harrowing torture scene, the trailer introduces Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal, dubbed the “Angel of Death,” whose agenda revolves around “bleeding India with a thousand cuts.” His character sets the stage for the film's tension-filled narrative.
R Madhavan portrays Sanyal, the Indian spymaster whose portrayal reflects the essence of real-life national security experts. Faced with increasing cross-border threats, Sanyal resorts to deep infiltration as the sole strategy. Akshaye Khanna appears as Rehman Dakait, a stylish and unpredictable outlaw, whose presence brings an exhilarating mix of danger and charm. Additionally, Sunny Deol as SP Chaudhary Aslam intensifies the chaos, contributing to a line-up of powerful antagonists.
Ranveer Singh enters as the principal counterforce, embodying a fierce operative poised to surpass the enemy’s savagery. His declaration of overpowering the enemy's explosives with his own establishes a tone of high-stakes conflict. A captivating montage of combat scenes, gunfire, and explosions unfolds, hinting at the extensive action the film promises.
Although the trailer's debut was initially set for an earlier date, it was postponed in light of the Delhi blast, and to honor veteran actor Dharmendra’s health concerns. Fans deemed the wait worthwhile, lauding Ranveer's intense appearance and commanding presence. Many expressed delight over the talented ensemble cast, highlighting the exceptional mix of seasoned actors.
Earlier that day, Ranveer unveiled his character poster, referring to himself as “the wrath of God,” further building excitement for the film. Dhurandhar is directed and produced by Aditya Dhar, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar also onboard as producers. The film features Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun in prominent roles.
Dhurandhar is set to hit theaters on December 5.
