Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The city of Dubai is gearing up to welcome the Women's Triathlon World Cup - Dubai 2025, marking the first global event exclusively for female competitors. Hosted by the Dubai Sports Council, this groundbreaking competition will be held on Dubai Islands on December 7, 2025, under the auspices of World Triathlon and in partnership with the UAE Triathlon Federation.

This landmark event underscores Dubai’s dedication to empowering women in sports and creating global platforms for competitive achievement.

Participants will engage in three triathlon disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running. They can choose from three formats: Professional (Amateurs): 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run; Sprint (Amateurs): 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run; Super Sprint (Age Groups & Beginners): 400m swim, 10km cycle, 2.5km run.

A unique team category is also available, where trios of female athletes compete in different disciplines within the Sprint and Super Sprint formats, fostering teamwork and strategic alliances.

This initiative aligns with Dubai’s vision to uplift women's roles in society and boost their presence in global sporting events. The championship reflects the commitment of the Dubai Sports Council to position the city as a premier global sports hub, offering women a secure and competitive space to thrive.

By hosting an all-female World Cup, Dubai reinforces its dedication to equality and bolsters female participation in endurance sports at an international level.

The World Triathlon, formerly recognized as the International Triathlon Union (ITU), has expressed pride in including this event in its official schedule. The global body hailed Dubai’s initiative as a significant and transformative step for women's sports.

World Triathlon President Antonio Fernandez Arimany praised Dubai for its leadership in championing female athletes, highlighting the event’s role in expanding women's involvement in endurance sports globally.

The Dubai Sports Council has launched registrations for women aged 18 and over, representing all nationalities, both inside and outside the UAE. Interested participants can sign up through the official event website until December 3, 2025, allowing ample time to join this historic competition.

The Women's Triathlon World Cup Dubai 2025 signifies a pivotal moment for female athletes around the world. It offers invaluable international exposure while fostering a culture of health, fitness, and empowerment. This event is poised to set new benchmarks for women's triathlon competitions and inspire other nations to host similar events in the future.
