Riyadh Welcomes the 26th Free Reading Festival for Youth

Post by : Bianca Haleem

In collaboration with the Riyadh Education Department, the King Abdulaziz Public Library is excited to announce the 26th annual Free Reading Festival, set to begin on Sunday.

Running from May 10 to May 14 in Riyadh, this highly anticipated event is expected to attract over 100 participating schools, featuring more than 1,550 students alongside their teachers and educators.

The primary goal of the festival is to foster a robust reading culture among the youth, aiding in their educational journeys. It emphasizes enhancing students' understanding of literature, science, and culture while encouraging them to develop a lifelong reading habit.

Additionally, the festival will offer students a stage to display their talents and improve their proficiency in the Arabic language. Teachers will play a vital role in mentoring students to cultivate consistent reading practices.

By organizing such initiatives, the King Abdulaziz Public Library continues its mission to advance reading by providing diverse programs and access to an extensive selection of books, ensuring that students engage with the Kingdom’s rich cultural and literary legacy.
