Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently completed several important traffic improvements in the Business Bay area. These upgrades aim to make the roads safer and traffic flow smoother for residents, businesses, and visitors. As part of a larger plan to improve Dubai’s road network, the changes are designed to keep up with the city’s rapid growth.
One of the major improvements involved changing a street parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road. What was once a two-lane, two-way road has now been converted into a one-way dual-lane road, effectively doubling its capacity. This change has made a big difference in reducing traffic congestion. At the intersection of Al Mustaqbal Street and Al Khaleej Al Tejari 1 Street, a new 100-meter-long storage lane was added to help with right turns. This change has increased capacity by 50%, cutting down waiting times and making the intersection flow more smoothly.
In addition, the service road near the towers has been reorganised to accommodate greater traffic, with an additional lane installed. This has increased capacity by around 50%. Furthermore, the entry point to the bridge on Al Mustaqbal Street was widened from one to two lanes, making it simpler for cars to pass across during peak hours.
These improvements are part of the RTA's ongoing effort to repair the city's infrastructure. With these adjustments, the roadways in Business Bay should experience less congestion, safer driving, and faster travel times for all.
