Ranveer Singh Lauds Sara Arjun as Bollywood's Young Star

Post by : Meena Hassan

The Mumbai launch of the trailer for Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar saw Bollywood icon Ranveer Singh extolling his 20-year-old co-star Sara Arjun, who is stepping into Hindi cinema with this film. Previously recognized for her roles in Tamil films, Sara has been celebrated for her performances in titles like Deiva Thirumagal and Saivam.

During the event, Ranveer characterized Sara as a “child prodigy,” drawing parallels with Hollywood star Dakota Fanning. He stated, “Seeing talent like Sara reminds me of how some people are just prodigies from their youth. Much like Dakota Fanning in the West. It’s remarkable you triumphed over countless candidates to earn this role, showing a depth well beyond your years. You are truly one of the most exceptional actors I’ve performed alongside.”

He further acknowledged Sara’s earlier endeavors in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan series, expressing gratitude for the way she elevates his performance. He remarked, “Your talent makes me appear even better, and I can hardly fathom it's your first movie. Clearly, you’ve already made your mark in films by Mani Ratnam, but now the world gets to witness your full potential.”

Sara first gained widespread attention in 2011 as Vikram’s daughter in Deiva Thirumagal. Her role in the 2014 film Saivam further enhanced her profile, along with her portrayal of young Nandini, the character played by Aishwarya Rai, in Mani Ratnam's epic films.

Written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is brought to life by co-producers Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Starring a notable ensemble including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, the music is composed by Shashwat Sachdev. The film is slated to hit theaters on December 5.

With a stellar cast and an exhilarating storyline, Dhurandhar is already stirring excitement among both viewers and critics. The anticipation surrounding Sara Arjun’s Bollywood debut alongside such renowned actors adds an exciting element for fans waiting to see her on the big screen.
