The 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, known as "Riyadh 2025," marked its conclusion yesterday with a spectacular closing ceremony at the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University sports stadium in Riyadh. In attendance were Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport, who is also the President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association, celebrating the achievements of the games.

Saudi Arabia showcased a remarkable performance, claiming fourth place overall with a medal tally of 57, which includes 18 gold, 12 silver, and 27 bronze. The athletes exhibited exceptional talent and spirit across various sports, underlining the Kingdom’s rising stature in both regional and global competitions.

Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, the Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Chairman of the Games' Higher Organizing Committee, also participated in the ceremony. Both officials commended the hard work of athletes, organizers, volunteers, and others who made the event a success.

During his moving address, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki expressed appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for his unwavering support of the games. He also acknowledged Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his continuous backing of the sports sector, which facilitated the event's successful execution.

A significant moment was the symbolic handover of the hosting rights for the next edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games to Malaysia. Prince Abdulaziz conveyed his best wishes to Malaysia for the upcoming event, stressing the ongoing importance of solidarity, camaraderie, and sportsmanship among participating nations.

The closing ceremony included an array of Saudi cultural and artistic performances, celebrating the nation’s rich heritage. Volunteers, essential to the games’ seamless operations, were recognized for their commitment and hard work. A parade with representatives from all participating nations highlighted the unity and spirit inherent in the Islamic Solidarity Games.

A video montage displayed the unforgettable moments from Riyadh 2025, showcasing thrilling competitions, emotional triumphs, and the outstanding performances of athletes from across the Islamic world. The event not only celebrated athletic achievement but also fostered cultural exchange, international collaboration, and mutual respect among the participating countries.

Officials underscored the profound success of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, which will have a lasting influence on sports development within the Kingdom and will promote Saudi Arabia as a key player for future international sports events. The meticulous organization and high-quality facilities received accolades from participants and observers alike, further solidifying the Kingdom’s capability to host grand tournaments.

As Malaysia prepares to host the next installment, there is a strong commitment to uphold the values of sportsmanship, collaboration, and unity established during Riyadh 2025.
