The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia has released essential heat safety protocols for Hajj pilgrims in anticipation of Arafah Day. Pilgrims are encouraged to stay within their Arafat camps until 4:00 PM local time on the ninth day of Dhu Al Hijjah to reduce their exposure to extreme temperatures.
These measures are designed to protect individuals from potential heat stress while engaging in one of Hajj's most significant rituals.
Additionally, the ministry stated that the Arafah Day sermon will be accessible through audio and visual broadcasting in all camps, ensuring that pilgrims can comfortably listen to the sermon without needing to leave their designated areas.
Pilgrims are also required to adhere to the established transportation and movement schedules throughout Hajj. Authorities have emphasized the importance of avoiding pedestrian access to traffic lanes or entering restricted zones, as these actions could impede crowd control and disrupt the orderly flow of pilgrims between sacred sites.
Furthermore, the ministry has advised against climbing Jabal Al Rahmah due to concerns around safety triggered by overcrowding and high temperatures.
Saudi authorities have reiterated that compliance with these guidelines is crucial for ensuring a safe, well-organized, and tranquil Hajj experience, while also enhancing crowd management throughout the pilgrimage season.
