The Saudi show jumping squad showcased remarkable skill at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games (Riyadh 2025), hosted at the Al-Janadriyah Arena. The event featured top-notch riders from around the Islamic community. Following a challenging second round, three Saudi competitors—Abdullah Al Sharbatly, Khaled Al-Mobty, and Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi—made it to the finals of the individual show jumping competition scheduled for tomorrow, raising expectations for the team as they aim for medals.
Abdullah Al Sharbatly, one of Saudi Arabia’s veteran riders, demonstrated exceptional focus and control, completing the course in 75.06 seconds without any faults. Achieving a faultless run indicates that the rider navigated the obstacles flawlessly, demonstrating excellent timing and technique. His clean performance confirms his status as a top contender heading into the finals, underscoring his long-standing influence in Saudi equestrian sports.
Khaled Al-Mobty, also in the finals, clocked in at 80.40 seconds. He did receive three faults due to minor errors, such as knocking down poles, but his overall effort was strong enough to secure his place. Despite these missteps, Al-Mobty proved his steadiness, speed, and compatibility with his horse, bolstering Team Saudi Arabia's roster with his reliability.
Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi recorded one of the quickest rounds among the Saudi contingent, finishing in 71.10 seconds. Even though he accrued four faults, possibly from a knocked obstacle, his timing kept him in contention for the finals. Known for his aggressive riding style, Al-Rajhi's speed reflects both confidence and determination, adding another solid chance for Saudi Arabia to secure a medal.
The success of these three riders highlights the advancements in Saudi equestrian sports. Recent investments in training programs, horses, competitions, and global partnerships have significantly enhanced the riders' skill and experience on the international stage. The accomplishments witnessed at Riyadh 2025 demonstrate Saudi Arabia's rising status as a formidable competitor in show jumping.
With all three riders set for the final, Team Saudi Arabia aims to capitalize on their strong showings to achieve podium finishes. Tomorrow's finals will be a test of their accuracy, timing, and teamwork in the face of international competition. Securing a medal in the individual segment would contribute positively to Saudi Arabia’s overall medal count at the Islamic Solidarity Games and bolster the nation's standing in sports.
As the finals draw near, Saudi fans are filled with anticipation. The blend of Al Sharbatly’s experience, Al-Mobty’s commitment, and Al-Rajhi’s speed positions the team well for success. Their qualifications signify both personal milestones and the onward march of Saudi equestrian sports. Tomorrow’s final is set to be a thrilling contest, with the nation eagerly watching for the results.
