On November 15th and 16th, the picturesque Abu Dhabi Corniche will once again transform into a racing hub as it hosts the second round of the UAE Jet Ski Championship. This annual event promises high-speed action and fierce competition, organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club under the guidance of the UAE Marine Sports Federation, as part of the 2025 marine sports calendar.

A highlight on the UAE water sports calendar, the championship draws both professional and amateur riders not only from the UAE but also international competitors hailing from Gulf, European, and Asian nations. It stands out as a significant showcase of the UAE's rising profile in the realm of water sports.

Many spectators are expected to fill the Corniche waterfront, eager to witness thrilling races and freestyle showcases throughout the event.

This year's championship will present various racing categories, giving seasoned riders and new talents the opportunity to engage in competition. Categories include:

  • Stand-Up Professional (GP1)

  • Stand-Up Junior (GP2)

  • Sit-Down Professional (GP2)

  • Sit-Down Novice (GP3)

  • Sit-Down Spark (GP4)

  • Freestyle Show (Freestyle category)

  • Junior Categories (3.1, 3.2, and 3.3)

Competitions will test riders' speed, control, and endurance, offering fans an exhilarating display of skill on the waters.

The action kicks off on Friday, November 15th, with participant registration and technical checks to verify safety and performance standards. This will be followed by a briefing session for riders to familiarize themselves with race routes, rules, and safety protocols.

Intense qualifying rounds across all categories will commence Saturday morning, with the second stage taking place on Sunday, determining finalists. An official awards ceremony will wrap up the championship, recognizing winners in front of fans, media representatives, and sports officials.

As noted by Thani Al Qemzi, Executive Director of Team Abu Dhabi and Modern Marine Sports, the UAE Jet Ski Championship is vital to the nation’s marine sports agenda. He highlighted its significance in fostering a marine sports culture, enhancing competitive standards, and nurturing Emirati talent on the international stage.

Al Qemzi reaffirmed the event’s importance in affirming Abu Dhabi’s commitment to world-class sporting events, offering a space for emerging athletes to gain valuable experience. He also commended the continuous efforts of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in promoting the sport through improved training, facilities, and international partnerships.

The scenic views along the Abu Dhabi Corniche set the perfect backdrop for such an eventful weekend. The championship is also a major draw for sports tourism, inviting global visitors to explore Abu Dhabi’s rich culture, hospitality, and sporting achievements.
