His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan led a recent meeting of the Abu Dhabi Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC), with the presence of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The council gathered to review major AI and technology projects, research efforts, and investment plans underway in the emirate.
The council was created to design and implement strategies that support artificial intelligence and advanced technology across Abu Dhabi. Its mission includes setting up funding programs, building partnerships locally and globally, and helping position Abu Dhabi as a key player in the world of technology.
During the meeting, members discussed ongoing projects and how new technologies could be used to improve public services and the overall quality of life. They also talked about current trends in AI, upcoming opportunities, and how Abu Dhabi can continue to attract world-class talent and tech companies.
Updates were shared by key organizations such as the Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ), the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), and e&, highlighting progress on several important initiatives.
The AI council was established in 2024 under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Its goal is to guide AI-related research and investments to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s leadership in the tech space.
The meeting was attended by senior figures including Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Jassem Mohamed Obaid Bu Ataba Alzaabi, Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, and Peng Xiao—showing strong support and collaboration at the highest levels.
A key focus was on drawing top global AI companies to Abu Dhabi. By encouraging innovation and attracting skilled professionals, the emirate hopes to stay ahead as a global technology leader.
The session reflected Abu Dhabi’s ongoing commitment to building a strong tech ecosystem, improving services through innovation, and securing its place on the international stage.
