Shraddha Kapoor has addressed the recent concerns following reports on November 22 regarding her injury during the filming of her upcoming movie, Eetha. In a candid Instagram interaction, the actress confirmed she has sustained a muscle tear but anticipates a full recovery with proper rest. This update comes after a wave of speculation, particularly given the absence of an official statement from the film’s production team.
During an Instagram Ask Me Anything session, Shraddha responded to inquiries about her injury. She shared a brief video showcasing her left leg in a plaster cast, while maintaining her signature humor. She quipped about feeling like a “terminator” despite the discomfort, clarifying that the injury is a minor muscle tear and not severe. Shraddha assured her fans that some rest and medical care would suffice for her recovery, promising she would resume her work soon.
In conjunction with her health update, Shraddha discussed her current and upcoming projects. She mentioned completing a film, the details of which remain confidential, and confirmed she is actively working on Eetha, directed by her boyfriend, filmmaker Rahul Mody. The actress described Eetha as a narrative centered on the start-up culture, reflecting the modern challenges and relentless drive of that environment. She considers the project a new creative opportunity, choosing roles that aim to stretch her abilities and portray complex characters. Shraddha is now focused on carefully selecting scripts that push her artistic boundaries.
A source from the film’s crew elaborated on the circumstances of the injury, attributing it to a Lavani dance sequence—a vigorous folk style known for intricate footwork and quick spins. The song, written by the acclaimed music pair Ajay–Atul, required her to execute a series of swift, continuous movements aligned with the dholki rhythm. Dressed in a heavy traditional Nauvari saree embellished with jewelry, she faced limitations in mobility during the performance.
In preparation for her role as a young Vithabai, Shraddha had gained over 15 kilograms to reflect her character's authenticity. The collision of high-energy choreography, cumbersome attire, and an abrupt shift in weight led to the incident. During one of the rapid dance steps, she inadvertently put too much weight on her left foot, causing her to lose balance and resulting in a muscle tear that has temporarily sidelined her work schedule.
Despite her injury, individuals close to the production note that Shraddha has remained upbeat and resolute. The film crew is adapting the shooting schedule to give her ample time to recover without feeling pressured. Medical professionals have recommended adequate rest, restricted movement, and physiotherapy to assist with her recovery. The dedicated actress is diligently following the prescribed plan while staying connected with fans for updates.
Shraddha’s transparency regarding her injury and her reflections on her career have resonated with fans, who have inundated her social media with well-wishes for a speedy recovery and enthusiasm for Eetha, which signifies a new chapter in her career, both in theme and her storytelling evolution.
