Sharjah has unveiled an ambitious housing and infrastructure expansion plan in the Mahdhab Suburb. This initiative aims to significantly enhance development, doubling the output from previous periods. Currently, over 6,000 housing plots have been allocated, with 2,000 residential units already constructed and occupied.
Work is in progress on another 2,000 homes, along with critical infrastructure projects such as major roadways linking Al Shanouf, Nazwa, and Emirates Road. The suburb also promises to include nurseries, schools, and essential community services, with nurseries strategically positioned for ease of access and minimal disruption, ensuring there is adequate parking for parents. Sites for government schools are set, with plans for their development already under coordination.
Mahdhab is home to a significant number of young families. To support future generations, approximately one-third of the plots—roughly 2,000—are reserved for the children of current residents, similar to a successful model applied in Al Zubair.
The fertile lands and rich groundwater of Mahdhab are also emphasized as a distinct advantage. Water flows through numerous channels, allowing landowners to effectively irrigate their crops and sustain greenery in the suburb.
Promoting community cohesion remains a key focus. Residents are encouraged to voice any concerns, with systems established to ensure timely resolutions. Attention is also given to residences that have been divided into multiple units to prevent conflicts and uphold family harmony.
Furthermore, initiatives regarding land leveling and social support programs are being implemented. Housing beneficiaries are assured that efforts are ongoing for stability, while job opportunities are being enhanced through a review of staff performance to identify capable jobseekers.
With these developments, Mahdhab Suburb is poised to evolve into a fully equipped, family-friendly community, merging modern infrastructure, natural resources, and robust social support.
