Cricket sensation Smriti Mandhana was forced to delay her wedding ceremony on Sunday following a sudden health scare involving her father, who experienced chest pain resembling heart attack symptoms. The scene turned chaotic at the wedding venue as an ambulance was promptly summoned to assist him. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care, which led to the immediate halting of the wedding celebrations. Smriti made it clear that she could not proceed without her father's presence, prioritizing his health.
Compounding the situation, Smriti’s fiancé, Palash Muchhal, was also taken to the hospital after feeling unwell. Reports indicate he suffered from a viral infection accompanied by high acidity, but thankfully, his condition was not grave. After receiving appropriate treatment, he was discharged and returned to the hotel, easing some worries for both families.
Father Under Close Medical Supervision
Dr. Naman Shah, the family doctor, provided insights into Mr. Srinivas Mandhana’s condition. At approximately 1:30 pm, he reported pain in the left side of his chest, indicative of angina. His son wasted no time in contacting the doctor, prompting a swift medical response to get him to the hospital.
Initial assessments, including an ECG and other evaluations, indicated elevated cardiac enzymes, showing that his heart was under strain and needed careful monitoring. Doctors are also addressing his high blood pressure. Should his condition not stabilize, an angiography may be necessary for further examination.
Medical personnel are keeping a close watch on him throughout the day, and there is hope he may soon be discharged if improvements continue. Smriti and her family are in constant communication with the medical team and remain nearby during this critical period.
Prior to this unexpected medical emergency, festivities had been ongoing in Sangli, Smriti's hometown in Maharashtra. Family, friends, and fans were eagerly anticipating the wedding, with many rituals already completed and the main ceremony set for Sunday. Unfortunately, the family's immediate focus has shifted due to Mr. Mandhana's health.
The wedding date has now been postponed indefinitely, hinging on her father's recovery. The Mandhana family seeks to ensure he is fully stable before any celebrations can resume. Smriti has emphasized she will not go ahead with the wedding until her father is healthy and able to attend.
A Challenging Moment for the Families
This has been a trying time for Smriti Mandhana and both families, transforming what should have been a joyful week into one filled with anxiety. However, both Smriti and Palash continue to remain calm, focusing on their families' welfare. The families are thankful that Palash’s condition is minor and that he is on the mend.
The cricket community, along with fans nationwide, have been sending their best wishes and prayers for a swift recovery for Smriti’s father. Many people commend her for prioritizing family during such an important moment in her life.
Currently, the timing of the wedding celebrations hinges on her father’s health and recovery. Until then, all wedding plans remain suspended.
