SpiceJet is set to increase its daily flight operations by up to 100 additional flights during the ongoing winter schedule, pending regulatory approvals. The expansion is aimed at meeting growing passenger demand and providing better connectivity during the festive and holiday season, when travel traffic is at its peak. Once approved, these additional flights will support both market growth and passenger convenience across key domestic and international routes.
The airline has strengthened its fleet over the past two months, adding 17 aircraft through a mix of damp-leased planes and the return of its own grounded aircraft. This enhanced fleet provides SpiceJet with operational flexibility, allowing the airline to deploy more flights on high-demand routes and improve the resilience of its network. A spokesperson emphasized that the focus is on adding aircraft, maximising utilisation, and strengthening overall connectivity through careful planning.
Last month, SpiceJet inducted five new Boeing 737 aircraft, including one Boeing 737 MAX, taking the total number of new planes added in just over a month to 15. These include 14 damp-leased aircraft (two of which are 737 MAX) and one previously grounded plane successfully reactivated. All five newly inducted aircraft have already commenced commercial operations, significantly improving connectivity for travellers on both domestic and international routes.
With these additions, SpiceJet’s operational flights have increased from 100 daily flights as of September 30, 2025, to 176 flights per day. The airline continues to focus on fleet expansion, improving Boeing aircraft utilisation, and offering passengers seamless travel options across India. This rapid growth underscores SpiceJet’s commitment to meeting the rising demand and enhancing service quality during the busy winter schedule.
