UAE and UK Lawmakers Enhance Strategic Partnership

Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee in the Federal National Council (FNC), engaged with UK House of Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle during an official visit to the UK Parliament in London. Accompanied by UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Mansoor Abdullah Abulhoul, this meeting represents a significant step towards reinforcing the longstanding ties between the two nations.

Al Nuaimi delivered messages of goodwill from FNC Speaker Saqr Ghobash and highlighted the deep-rooted nature of UAE-UK relations, as both nations continue to enhance collaboration across political, economic, and security fronts. Discussions centered around boosting parliamentary cooperation reflecting the evolving dynamics of their extensive bilateral relationship.

The dialogue also addressed pressing regional and global concerns, with both parties recognizing the mounting challenges that necessitate closer coordination. They underscored the vital role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering stability, promoting dialogue, counteracting divisive narratives, and supporting humanitarian initiatives in delicate regions.

The participants stressed the need for consistent communication between legislative bodies, especially as both countries adapt to changing geopolitical landscapes. The engagement concluded with a mutual acknowledgment that strengthening parliamentary channels enhances trust and fosters effective collaboration on shared interests.

The UK House of Commons Speaker remarked on the proactive role of the FNC in international parliamentary affairs and the ongoing endeavors to advance UAE-UK relations across various domains.
