Sunita Ahuja, renowned for being the spouse of Bollywood superstar Govinda, recently shared her honest reflections on the complexities of their long marriage. Since tying the knot in 1987, Sunita has openly discussed the ups and downs of their relationship, keeping themselves in the media spotlight.
Marriage Trials and Reflections
During her recent interview, Sunita emphasized the need for patience in marital relationships. “One must keep themselves in check. Everyone makes mistakes in youth—I certainly have, and so has Govinda... As you grow older, those mistakes can damage your reputation, particularly when you have a lovely family to uphold,” she explained, highlighting how continued errors in adulthood can impact one's image.
Being a Wife of a Star
Sunita spoke candidly about the emotional challenges of being married to a public figure. “Govinda is a star... He spends more time with his co-stars than with me. It requires immense strength to be the wife of a celebrity. You must harden your heart; it took me 38 years to understand this,” she stated. Despite acknowledging Govinda’s merits as a son and brother, she humorously remarked on his shortcomings as a husband, suggesting that she'd prefer different circumstances in the next life.
Speculations and Reunions
Since February, there have been numerous rumors about their relationship, with talk of separation and divorce making the rounds. Reports hinted that Sunita had issued a separation notice earlier, but no further steps were taken. Recently, they were spotted together during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, with Sunita affirming that their bond remains intact.
The Ahuja Family Journey
Govinda and Sunita exchanged vows in March 1987 and initially kept their relationship private until the arrival of their daughter, Tina, in 1988. Their son, Yashvardhan, followed in 1997. Despite facing trials, their enduring marriage continues to draw the attention of the public.
