China’s Auto Exports Increase by 15.7% in 2025 Thanks to NEVs

Post by : Bianca Haleem

China’s vehicle exports experienced significant growth in the initial ten months of 2025, marking a pivotal advancement for the nation’s automotive sector. As per the latest statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, over 5.6 million vehicles were exported in this timeframe, indicating a 15.7 percent rise compared to the previous year. This consistent upward trend emphasizes China’s advancing role as a major player in the global automotive market.

A key contributor to this increase has been the export of new energy vehicles (NEVs), encompassing electric and hybrid models. NEV exports skyrocketed by an astounding 90.4 percent, hitting 2.01 million units. This notable surge highlights a growing global demand for environmentally-friendly vehicle alternatives, with China leading the charge in this change.

The month of October alone recorded impressive outcomes, with total vehicle exports rising 22.9 percent year-on-year. NEV exports almost doubled during this month, soaring 99.9 percent, demonstrating the surging international appetite for China-produced electric vehicles. These statistics reflect robust momentum for China’s automotive industry, as it continues to leverage technological innovations and global trends favoring green alternatives.

The continuous rise in vehicle exports not only strengthens China’s manufacturing industry but also showcases the nation’s strategic emphasis on innovation and sustainable practices in the automotive realm. As worldwide competition intensifies, China’s capability to provide a significant number of high-quality vehicles, particularly in the NEV segment, positions it advantageously to influence the future of global transportation.
