After a prolonged wait of four years, Manoj Bajpayee’s much-anticipated The Family Man is back with its third season, debuting on November 21. This spy thriller sees Bajpayee reprising his celebrated role as Srikant Tiwari, a diligent intelligence officer grappling with national security challenges while navigating a chaotic family life.
Directed by Raj and DK, Season 3 kicks off with Srikant caught in an assassination plot, pulling him into a complex geopolitical scenario filled with insurgency and clandestine operations. Priyamani returns as Suchitra, his wife, alongside familiar faces like Sharib Hashmi and Shreya Dhanwanthary. Newcomers Jaideep Ahlawat and Nimrat Kaur take on key villainous roles.
Since its debut in 2019, The Family Man has redefined Indian OTT thrillers with a compelling blend of action, humor, and familial themes. This season, however, opts for a more action-centric approach, eliciting divided opinions among viewers.
Some fans applauded the latest season, stating, “This season stands out as the most complete and intriguing installment yet.” Viewers appreciated both the returning cast and the newcomers, highlighting their strong performances and engaging plot twists.
Conversely, some viewers expressed disappointment, critiquing the season for its weaker narrative and reduced emphasis on Srikant’s family dynamics. Comments such as, “Weakest season yet… at least the cast is having fun,” and “Finished 4 episodes… this season is plain BORING!” reflect a sentiment of longing for elements that made earlier seasons remarkable.
Overall, The Family Man Season 3's reception is mixed, with opinions oscillating between an exhilarating thrill ride and a somewhat underwhelming experience.
