This initiative further demonstrated the UAE’s dedication to fostering health, fitness, and community participation through sporting events.
This year, the marathon featured five prominent race categories, including the 21 km Half Marathon, 10 km, 5 km, and 2.5 km races, with additional categories for families, leisure runners, and People of Determination. Each category was designed to ensure that athletes of all experience levels could engage in a safe and enjoyable manner. Organizers took great care to accommodate the diverse range of participants, from novices to seasoned competitors.
Over 1,000 athletes participated in the main 21 km Half Marathon. The average age among all participants was 31, showcasing the event’s broad appeal. Youngest entrants began at under a year old in the family race, while the oldest competitors, Abdulaziz Al Amri and Anna Russo, aged 71 and 73 respectively, highlighted the inclusive nature of the event, where age was no barrier to engagement in fitness.
