Trump vs Musk Feud Explodes Online, Memes Call for Ceasefire

A major online war of words has broken out between former US President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and people across the world—including Indians—are joining the fun. As both powerful figures exchanged shots on social media, the internet exploded with memes. Many joked about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stepping in to bring peace between them.

The drama began after Musk hinted at Trump’s name being linked to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier involved in criminal cases. This bold claim triggered a huge backlash.

From trade policies and election results to government subsidies, Trump and Musk have been clashing over various issues. Musk recently stepped down from a role in the Trump administration, where he was heading a fictional department named DOGE—Department of Government Efficiency. It was supposed to help cut waste and reduce debt.

As the fight intensified, social media users started sharing funny posts. One user on X (formerly Twitter) joked, “Modi ji should announce a ceasefire between Musk & Trump,” and that post alone got over 143,000 views. The meme wave grew stronger from there.

People remembered a past incident where Trump claimed credit for a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, even though India denied any third-party involvement. That made the meme comparisons even funnier.

One parody account posted, “After a long night of talks mediated by India, I’m pleased to announce that Donald Trump & Elon Musk have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE.”

Indian politician Priyanka Chaturvedi also joined the fun, sharing Musk’s criticism of Trump with the caption, “SOS: call for ceasefire!!”

Another user joked, “BREAKING: PM Modi takes credit for ceasefire between Elon & Trump. Elon & Trump deny any third person was involved. Modi still posts it on X.”

Amidst the laughs, the reality is that Trump and Musk’s relationship took a serious hit. They recently appeared together at a press event, but things quickly fell apart. Musk had harsh words for Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” calling it a “disgusting abomination” and saying it would hurt the economy.

Trump didn’t hold back either. On his platform Truth Social, he said he was “very disappointed in Elon” and even accused President Biden of not cutting off Musk’s government aid. Musk fired back, saying, “Without me, Trump would have lost the election. Such ingratitude.” He later added that Trump's trade policies could cause a recession.

But the most explosive statement came when Musk wrote, “Time to drop the really big bomb: Trump is in the Epstein files. That’s why they haven’t been made public.”

The internet was enthralled with this revelation. The phrase “THE GIRLS ARE FIGHTING” started trending, perfectly capturing how people saw the online spat between two of the most influential men in the world.
