White House Responds to Rumors About Trump’s Bandaged Hand

Post by : Meena Hassan

The White House has issued a clarification regarding the bandages seen on President Donald Trump’s right hand recently, dispelling rumors about his health. Officials indicated that the bandages result from the president's numerous handshakes, asserting that there is no reason for concern.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt spoke on Thursday, reiterating her earlier remarks about the bruising on Trump’s hand that raised eyebrows in the media. She noted that the president's daily routine of greeting supporters, combined with a daily aspirin intake, could easily lead to minor bruising. “He is literally shaking hands constantly,” she stated. “This, along with aspirin usage, is responsible for the marks you see.”

At 79, Trump is the oldest person ever to be elected to the presidency and has consistently been proactive in defending his health. He often compares his fitness level with the perceived decline in health of his predecessor, Joe Biden. Through various public statements and social media updates, Trump has insinuated that Biden's health decline was evident by the end of his administration, while he insists he remains in peak physical form.

Earlier this week, Trump took to his Truth Social platform to reject media inquiries into his health, labeling them as extreme and asserting that such questioning borders on “sedition, maybe even treason.” This reflects his ongoing frustration with what he deems unjustified scrutiny concerning his health, particularly given his active role in political and public life.

In support of Trump's assertions about his health, a thorough medical evaluation performed in October, which included an MRI and routine tests, confirmed that he is in excellent health, with no significant medical concerns identified. The White House has used this report to counter ongoing speculation and bolster the narrative that the bandages on his hand do not signify any serious health problems.

By publicly addressing the situation, the White House seeks to reassure both the public and media that Trump's mild hand bruising is a typical result of daily interactions and preventative medications. Officials highlighted that there is no cause for alarm, as Trump continues to pursue his demanding schedule while maintaining good health.
