Veteran actress Tulasi, well-known in Telugu and Tamil films, has announced her retirement from acting through her Instagram account. With heartfelt posts, she signaled her departure from the industry, concluding a distinguished 58-year career that started when she was only three months old.

A poignant image of Sai Baba’s feet accompanied a caption she shared: “Guard and guide me and my son Sai!! oh deva oh Sainadha.” She also posted a powerful quote: “Trust your intuition. You don’t need to explain or justify your feelings to anyone, just trust your own inner guidance, it knows best.” In a subsequent post, she expressed her joy: “Happy retirement! Here’s to savoring each moment of your new-found freedom and adventures.” She elaborated on her choice by stating, “In continuation of my shirdi darshan this December 31, I wish myself a happy retirement. I will continue my journey in peace with SAINADHA. Thanking all for helping me learn life SAIRAM.”

Born on June 20, 1967, Tulasi began her career in Telugu cinema at just three months old, when a family friend, Savitri, requested her appearance in the film Bharya. She quickly garnered recognition as a child actress, featuring in notable films like Seetamalakshmi (1978), Sankarabharanam (1979), and Mudda Mandaram (1981).

After tying the knot with Kannada director Sivamani at 28, she took a brief hiatus from acting, only to work intermittently as a voice artist, including roles in Mani Ratnam's films. She made a comeback in 2003 with the Kannada movie Excuse Me portraying the archetypal mother, which became her hallmark role. From there, she starred in significant films like Mr. Perfect, Iddarammayilatho, and Dear Comrade, along with appearances in series such as Oka Chinna Family Story.
