Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Meets Kyoto Governor to Boost Cooperation

His Highnesshyan Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Na, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, visited Japan to attend the UAE Pavilion’s celebration of UAE Day at Expo 2025 Osaka. The visit highlighted the UAE’s commitment to building international partnerships and promoting innovation, culture, and sustainable development.

Meeting with Kyoto Governor

During the visit, Sheikh Khalid met with His Excellency Takatoshi Nishiwaki, Governor of Kyoto Prefecture. The meeting focused on exploring ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Abu Dhabi and Kyoto. Both sides discussed collaborating on key areas such as innovation, modern infrastructure, sustainable environmental solutions, and other strategic sectors important to both regions.

Focus on Sustainable Development

The discussions emphasized sustainable development as a shared priority. Sheikh Khalid and Governor Nishiwaki explored opportunities to exchange expertise and best practices in environmental management and sustainable technologies. Both leaders agreed that cooperation in these areas could support economic growth while preserving natural resources for future generations.

Innovation and Infrastructure Collaboration

Another key topic of discussion was innovation and infrastructure development. The Crown Prince and Kyoto Governor discussed initiatives that could foster technological advancement and efficient urban planning. UAE Delegation Attends Meeting

The meeting was attended by a high-level UAE delegation. His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, was present. Other officials included His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport; His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; and Her Excellency Maryam Eid Al Mheiri, Head of the Abu Dhabi Media Office.

UAE Ambassador to Japan Participates

His Excellency Shehab Ahmed Al Fahim, UAE Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner-General of the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, also attended the meeting. The ambassador played a key role in facilitating discussions and ensuring that the partnership initiatives between Abu Dhabi and Kyoto are effectively coordinated.

Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

The meeting aimed to create stronger links between Abu Dhabi and Kyoto. Both sides expressed interest in expanding collaboration in areas of mutual benefit. These initiatives are expected to enhance trade, knowledge exchange, cultural relations, and technological cooperation between the two regions.
