UAE Strengthens Cybersecurity with Post-Quantum Technology

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The UAE Cybersecurity Council has announced a major step forward in the country’s readiness for post-quantum security. At CyberQ 2025, held in Abu Dhabi on November 26-27, the Council confirmed that its expanded collaboration with QuantumGate, an ATRC-backed company specializing in quantum-safe solutions, is moving the nation from planning to large-scale implementation. This partnership strengthens the UAE’s defenses against future quantum decryption threats affecting critical sectors.

The collaboration between the Cybersecurity Council and QuantumGate, a subsidiary of VentureOne, aims to accelerate the UAE’s transition to quantum-safe security. The joint efforts will focus on predicting and mitigating risks posed by emerging quantum decryption technologies. This approach ensures that national security, financial systems, and other priority sectors are prepared for the next generation of cybersecurity challenges.

The next phase of this national initiative will put the strategy into action through three key programs: the National Information Assurance Programme, the National Cybersecurity Index Platform, and the National Post-Quantum Migration Programme.

Through the National Information Assurance Programme, the Council and QuantumGate will improve baseline security measures and enhance resilience for both public and private sector organizations. The National Cybersecurity Index Platform will provide a national-level view of readiness, enabling better measurement, tracking, and visibility of cybersecurity preparedness.

The National Post-Quantum Migration Programme will identify vulnerable cryptographic assets, define migration priorities, and guide organizations on protecting long-term data. By providing clear baselines, sector-wide guidance, and migration roadmaps, the UAE is moving from awareness into practical, actionable cybersecurity measures. These efforts place the UAE among the first countries globally to implement a coordinated, national-scale post-quantum security model.

Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, said, "Our goal is to anticipate, not react. With QuantumGate’s advanced technology supporting national efforts, the UAE is building quantum-safe defenses today to ensure critical infrastructure remains secure against future threats."

The collaboration also integrates additional QuantumGate solutions into national programs. These include the Crypto Discovery Tool (CDT), which provides full visibility of cryptographic assets across complex environments; QSphere, a quantum-resilient VPN and data protection suite; and Salina and Secure VMI, which extend security to enterprise and government systems beyond post-quantum protection.

Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of QuantumGate, added, "Our work with the Cybersecurity Council has grown from research to full-scale deployment. Together, TII’s cryptography platforms and QuantumGate’s security solutions are now active across national infrastructure, protecting the UAE against emerging quantum threats."

This long-term partnership strengthens the UAE’s position as a regional and global leader in post-quantum cybersecurity. By combining government strategy with national technology expertise, the UAE is creating a secure digital foundation for the future.

Through coordinated implementation and scaled quantum-safe readiness, the Cybersecurity Council and QuantumGate are enhancing the nation’s ability to protect sensitive information, improve overall resilience, and ensure the UAE remains at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation in the quantum era.
