UAE MMA Championship 5 Begins Saturday in Al Ain

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The UAE National MMA Championship 5 will begin this Saturday at the indoor hall of UAE University in Al Ain. The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation announced that final preparations are complete for the two-day event. This championship is one of the important competitions in the country and attracts young and adult fighters from different clubs.

Around 300 athletes from various clubs and academies across the UAE have registered to take part. The strong participation shows the growing interest in mixed martial arts among young athletes. Organisers expect the event to be competitive, with many skilled fighters ready to test their abilities.

The championship will include several age divisions. It will start with Youth D for athletes aged 10–11, followed by Youth C for ages 12–13, Youth B for ages 14–15, and Youth A for ages 16–17. After the youth categories, the event will conclude with the adults division for athletes aged 18 and above. This structure allows fighfters to compete with others in their age group and improve step by step.

Obaid Al Ketbi, an athlete from ADMA Academy competing in the Youth A category, shared his excitement about participating. He said the event gives him a great chance to check his progress during the season. Al Ketbi added that facing athletes with different styles helps him build his technical and physical skills while gaining valuable experience.

Officials from the federation said that the championship aims to support young talent and encourage them to grow in the sport. They believe competitions like this help develop future stars in MMA in UAE and promote a healthy sporting culture.

With strong organisation, high participation, and rising interest, the UAE National MMA Championship 5 is expected to deliver an exciting weekend of action. It highlights the country’s commitment to supporting combat sports and building a new generation of athletes.
