Butheeb International Endurance Village in Al Khatm, Abu Dhabi, is hosting the UAE President’s Endurance Cup, one of the most important equestrian events in the country. The championship is taking place over four days, from Thursday to Sunday, and is attracting strong attention from horse owners, riders, and sports fans across the UAE.
The event includes four endurance races designed for different categories of riders. Three races — the Private Owners race, the Ladies race, and the Giants Cup — will each cover a distance of 100 kilometres. In addition, there will be an open endurance race covering 120 kilometres, offering a higher challenge for experienced competitors.
All races are being organised under the supervision of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation (UAEERF). Many stables from across the country are taking part, showing the growing popularity of endurance riding in the UAE and the strong support for equestrian sports at the national level.
Preparations for the event began ahead of the races. Horses taking part in the Private Owners race underwent veterinary inspections to ensure their health and safety. Riders were also weighed, and final entries were approved to meet competition rules and international standards.
Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, President of the UAEERF, said the UAE President’s Endurance Cup holds a special place in the hearts of everyone involved in the sport. He explained that the event represents appreciation and loyalty to the country’s wise leadership for its continued support of athletes and sports development.
He added that endurance racing reflects the UAE’s deep cultural connection with horses and highlights the nation’s commitment to promoting equestrian sport. The championship continues to inspire riders and strengthens the UAE’s position as a global hub for endurance racing.
