UAE Dispatches 249th Humanitarian Aid Shipment to Gaza

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The UAE has dispatched its 249th humanitarian aid shipment to Gaza as part of the extensive relief effort known as Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. This recent convoy delivered over 195 tonnes of shelter supplies aimed at aiding Palestinian families grappling with severe conditions. The shipment addresses the urgent need for protection against cold temperatures, rain, and precarious living environments.

This convoy symbolizes the UAE's steadfast commitment to support the people of Gaza in these profoundly challenging times. The government has been actively sending consistent aid to alleviate the struggles of families who have lost homes or access to essential needs.

Included in this convoy were 2,250 emergency shelter tents, transported on 15 trucks. These tents form part of the response to the recent cold spells and heavy rains affecting Gaza. Many families currently live without adequate roofing or walls, underscoring the urgent demand for durable and secure shelter options.

The UAE’s humanitarian team conveyed that the intention behind this shipment is to provide immediate relief to families affected by the harsh winter conditions. These tents offer safety and protection until durable solutions can be established.

Prepared at a specialized logistics center in Al Arish, the convoy was meticulously organized to facilitate the transfer of essential relief items into Gaza.

Fahad Saleh Al Harthi, who leads the team, noted that this 249th convoy is a key component of the ongoing support delivered through Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. He emphasized the UAE's dedication to regular aid shipments, as the needs of Gaza’s residents grow increasingly urgent due to harsh weather conditions.

Al Harthi detailed that the personnel at the Al Arish logistics hub work tirelessly to ensure smooth aid flow. Their responsibilities encompass receipt of supplies, organized storage, preparation for transit, and logistical arrangements for transportation.

He stressed the importance of maintaining a steady stream of aid, which allows families in Gaza to obtain food, shelter items, and medical supplies without prolonged interruptions. This support is critical, as many families rely solely on humanitarian aid for their daily existence.

This latest convoy is part of a series initiated by the UAE under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. Since the crisis onset, the operation has successfully delivered over 20,000 shelter tents alongside numerous food, medical, and relief shipments. The UAE utilizes both land and sea routes to expedite aid delivery to those in need.

The overarching aim of this operation is to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian community during a turbulent period, ensuring that families have access to essential resources for health and safety. This ongoing humanitarian commitment highlights the UAE's unwavering dedication to assisting those in distress, regardless of the hurdles faced.
