UAE U21 Jiu-Jitsu Team Earns Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals in Bangkok

The UAE women’s under-21 jiu-jitsu national team has continued to impress at the 2025 World Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand. This prestigious event showcases competitions across U16, U18, and U21 levels, and the UAE team has stood out remarkably this year. Recently, they added three new medals to their impressive tally, demonstrating exceptional skill and determination on the global stage.

With their latest achievements, the UAE now boasts a total of 10 medals in the U21 segment, comprising three gold, four silver, and three bronze medals. This impressive medal haul underscores the athletes' dedication, the guidance of their coaches, and the robust support from national sports initiatives. It also showcases the UAE's commitment to fostering jiu-jitsu as a prominent sport for young talents.

Among the standout performances was that of Alanood Alharbi, who clinched the gold medal in the 48kg division. Her confident display highlighted her exceptional technique and control throughout her matches, contributing significantly to the UAE's success in the championship. This victory marks an important milestone in her development as an athlete, illustrating her capacity to thrive under pressure.

In the 45kg category, Aysha Alshamsi achieved a commendable silver medal following several intense matches. She competed against formidable international opponents, showcasing her focus and grit. This silver finish adds to the UAE’s growing accomplishments and enriches her experience on the world stage.

Mariam Al Ali also participated in the 45kg category, securing a bronze medal after a series of competitive bouts against skilled contenders from various nations. Her achievement reflects the depth of talent in the UAE women's U21 team and highlights her determination to perform well as a representative of her country.

Following her gold medal victory, Alanood Alharbi expressed immense pride and joy, sharing that this win was a culmination of years of hard work and the unwavering support of her family. She emphasized that jiu-jitsu has become a vital part of her life, with school jiu-jitsu programs significantly honing her skills and confidence. Alharbi expressed her pride in representing the UAE, viewing this medal as just the beginning of her future aspirations in the sport.

The excitement will continue with the commencement of the 2025 World Jiu-Jitsu Cup for the U14 category on Friday. This one-day event will showcase upcoming talents from several nations, with the UAE sending a strong team of 17 athletes poised to compete and aim for noteworthy results.

The UAE team approaches the U14 competition with optimism and high expectations, drawing motivation from their recent success in the U21 category. They are determined to uphold their strong performance and keep the UAE flag raised high throughout the championship.
