Next Sunday, the UAE Judo Federation will host the Masters Championship in Bani Yas East, as part of its 2025–2026 sporting calendar. This event will showcase both male and female competitors in an open format, reflecting the inclusive nature of judo in the UAE.
His Excellency Mohammed bin Thaloob Al Derei, Chairman of the UAE Judo Federation, expressed that the federation's activities are well organized and professionally managed. He extended his best wishes to participants, encouraging them to display focus and good sportsmanship.
The championship is set to take place at the Federation Hall in Bani Yas East, with matches commencing on Sunday. Athletes will weigh in on Saturday to ensure proper weight classifications.
Scheduled matches will include preliminary, consolation, and final rounds, culminating in a winners' ceremony.
To promote fair play, female competitors will be divided into several weight categories:

Under 52 kg
Under 57 kg
Under 63 kg
Under 70 kg
Under 78 kg
Over 78 kg
These categories adhere to international standards, giving all athletes a fair opportunity to display their skills.
Male competitors will also contest in various divisions, including:

Under 81 kg
Under 90 kg
Under 100 kg
Over 100 kg
Competitors will fight within their respective groups, promoting safety and equal opportunity during bouts.
