Taking place from November 12 to 14, the championship showcases rising talents from across the globe. Backed by Mubadala Investment Company, the UAE team proudly clinched a total of seven medals—two gold, three silver, and two bronze.

The Emirati athletes displayed exceptional skill and perseverance throughout the event. Notably, Ammar Al Hosani won gold in the under-94 kg category, while Rashid Al Shehhi took gold in the under-56 kg event. Their outstanding performances highlighted the rigorous training and preparation that preceded the tournament.

Additionally, three Emirati competitors secured silver medals: Fahad Al Hammadi in the under-77 kg category, Rashid Al Hemani in the over-94 kg category, and Mohammed Al Shehhi in the under-56 kg division. Bronze medals were awarded to Faisal Al Wahidi in the under-69 kg and Abdulrahman Mohammed in the under-62 kg categories.

Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali, Director of the Technical Department at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, commended the young athletes for their achievements. He emphasized that these accomplishments showcase the UAE's progress in nurturing Jiu-Jitsu talent at every level. Each victory is the byproduct of a collaborative approach involving family support, dedicated training in schools and clubs, and the strategic vision of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation that aims at fostering champions.

He highlighted the significance of the school Jiu-Jitsu program, stating that it has become a cornerstone for the sport's development in the UAE. The program nurtures not only athletic skill but also instills discipline, confidence, and concentration in young athletes. Many of today's champions embarked on their journeys through school initiatives that equipped them with the competencies essential for success on the global stage.

Gold medalist Rashid Al Shehhi, victorious in the under-56 kg class, expressed his pride in representing the UAE. Al Shehhi remarked that his triumph extends beyond personal accolades; it serves as inspiration for other young Emiratis, underscoring the importance of determination and discipline in achieving goals. “I began my Jiu-Jitsu journey at school,” he reflected. “Jiu-Jitsu represents not just an athletic endeavor, but a lifestyle promoting respect, confidence, and teamwork. I owe my success to my family’s unwavering support, which propelled me to excel.”

The championship will continue in Bangkok with upcoming competitions for the under-21 girls’ category, where the UAE team has high hopes for further success. The matches for the girls are anticipated to foster excitement and enhance the UAE’s prominence in the sport.

The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation remains dedicated to cultivating young talent and readying athletes for significant international contests. With strong support from Mubadala Investment Company, the federation offers top-notch training programs and facilities, empowering players to realize their potential. This steadfast commitment to youth development is critical in producing a new generation of elite athletes.

The accolades achieved in Bangkok signify the UAE’s enduring dedication to promoting Jiu-Jitsu as both a national sport and a way of life. The youth have showcased not only remarkable prowess but also the values of discipline and respect—hallmarks of true Jiu-Jitsu.

Securing seven medals, including two golds, is a significant milestone for the UAE on the global stage.
