Bride Abruptly Leaves Groom in Uttar Pradesh Just 20 Minutes After Tying Knot

Post by : Bianca Haleem

In an astonishing incident from Uttar Pradesh, a bride departed from her husband only 20 minutes after reaching her in-laws’ home, which led to a five-hour village council session resulting in the dissolution of their marriage.

The wedding on November 25 in Deoria was celebrated traditionally, with both families participating in what appeared to be a typical ceremony. However, early the next day, during the customary reception at the groom’s home, the bride stepped outside her room, contacted her parents, and refused to live with her husband.

Despite efforts from relatives on both sides to convince her otherwise, the bride remained resolute. Her family attributed her decision to perceived unfriendly actions from the groom’s family, while the bride did not elaborate on her reasoning.

Village Council Attempts Reconciliation

The unexpected turn of events prompted the families to organize a local panchayat on November 26. After more than five hours of discussions among villagers and family, attempts at mediation proved futile.

A formal agreement was eventually signed, allowing for a mutual separation and allowing both individuals the freedom to remarry in the future. All gifts and exchanged items were returned, with the bride leaving with her family by evening.

Reactions from Families

The groom’s family expressed their disappointment, noting that relations had seemed normal prior to the wedding. They felt embarrassed by the incident in front of neighbors and relatives but opted not to involve authorities following the bride’s decision.

Having been arranged six months prior, this sudden separation after the completion of marital vows has left the local community buzzing with discussions about this peculiar occurrence.
