Vietnam's Education Sector Gains Momentum Under PM's Guidance

Post by : Shakul

In a recent high-level conference held on April 25, 2026, Vietnam's Prime Minister Le Minh Hung reiterated education and training as a paramount national focus. This assertion underlines the government's unwavering commitment to advancing the educational landscape.

Key officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau and Education Minister Hoang Minh Son, alongside various agency representatives, convened to address pressing issues, review significant programs, and expedite critical tasks within the education sector.

Officials indicated substantial strides in executing major resolutions concerning educational reform, science, technology, and digital progress. New laws, decrees, and policies have been instituted to enhance the sector's institutional framework and developmental outlook.

The government is emphasizing universal preschool education for children aged 3 to 5, while ensuring stability and quality across all educational tiers. A unified textbook system is expected to launch in the 2026–2027 academic year, aimed at standardizing curriculum and refining teaching strategies.

Efforts are underway to cultivate a proficient workforce, focusing on expanding training in key industries and advanced technologies. Strategies include promoting English language education in schools, bolstering innovation ecosystems, and enhancing collaboration among government, educational entities, and businesses.

Despite these accomplishments, the Prime Minister acknowledged persistent challenges: teacher shortages in some areas, delays in higher education restructuring, gaps in digital innovation, and issues with education quality and infrastructure.

Looking forward, the government has outlined several actions as priorities. These involve streamlining administrative procedures, enhancing policy execution, strengthening digital data systems, and ensuring improved inter-agency coordination. Special focus will also be placed on enhancing teacher well-being, particularly in underserved regions.

The Prime Minister asserted that advancing educational standards is crucial for economic growth, boosting labor efficiency, and realizing long-term national development objectives. Authorities are encouraged to make decisive moves and achieve quantifiable results in the upcoming months.
