Dubai, UAE — H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum chaired a crucial meeting of the Dubai Real Estate Corporation (DREC) Board, during which he assessed Wasl Group’s performance for 2025, representing yet another successful year for Dubai's real estate market.
In this session, Sheikh Maktoum commended the ongoing advancements within DREC and Wasl Group, emphasizing that the growth and resilience of Dubai’s property sector mirror the emirate's overall economic vitality. He noted the importance of this sector in promoting job opportunities, infrastructure enhancement, and solidifying Dubai’s role as a worldwide hub for residents, investors, and visitors alike.
The gathering also reaffirmed the long-term urban development strategy of Dubai, steered by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It was highlighted that current real estate developments contribute to improved livability standards and bolster the emirate’s competitiveness on the global stage, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
A significant focus was on Wasl Group’s transition towards digital transformation. The initiative, progressing from planning stages to implementation, aims to refine customer experiences, bolster operational efficiency, and expand the Group's business capabilities.
Furthermore, housing accessibility is a vital concern. The Board highlighted Wasl's accomplishments in affordable housing, confirming the establishment of 45,000 affordable residences in 2025. These units constitute 85% of Wasl’s leasing portfolio, providing residents with established communities inclusive of greenery, connectivity, and necessary amenities. Following the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, Wasl intends to double its residential leasing offerings in the upcoming years to accommodate a broader spectrum of income levels.
Attendees at the meeting included senior board members: Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Mohamed Hadi Ahmed Al Hussaini, Rashid Mohammed Rashid Al-Mutawa, Shuaib Mir Hashem Khouri, Rashid Ali bin Oboud and Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Mulla.
The Board wrapped up with a strong commitment to sustaining momentum in real estate, hospitality, and entertainment projects, ensuring alignment with Dubai's long-term economic and urban aspirations.
