Yas Marina Circuit Enhances F1 Race Control Room with Cutting-Edge Technology

Post by : Meena Hassan

Yas Marina Circuit has executed a substantial renovation of its race control room in preparation for the 2025 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This newly revamped facility significantly bolsters decision-making speed, enhances safety management, and ensures maximum comfort for 28 officials.

The state-of-the-art upgrade includes a digital framework providing immediate access to 55 camera feeds, timing systems, race records, and broadcast streams via tablet control. This streamlines operations by removing additional equipment and facilitating compatibility for visiting championships.

With improved ergonomic solutions, adjustable LED lighting, and specially designed desks, the upgraded facility maintains focus and clarity during high-intensity situations. Stuart Latham, Safety and Operations Director at Yas Marina, mentions that the venue not only meets but surpasses FIA standards, positioning it as one of the globe's most advanced race control centers.

The newly enhanced control room made its debut during the Yas Racing Series (October 31 – November 2) and is set to support the 2025/2026 motorsport season, which includes events like Formula 4 Middle East, Asian Le Mans Series, Lenovo Gulf 12 Hours, and the Autonomous Racing Series. Mark your calendars for the 2025 Abu Dhabi GP, scheduled for December 5-7.
