Bahrain’s national athletics team is gearing up to compete in the 3rd Asian Youth Games, aiming to showcase the Kingdom’s growing prominence in Asian athletics. The event will provide young athletes with a platform to gain valuable experience and compete against top talent from across Asia.
The team consists of nine athletes: Sam Salah Rashid, Yousif Ameen Rizq, Talal Nawaf Al Doseri, Ibrahim Al Adeeb Bukhari, Irfan Mohammed Ismaeel, Sayed Ahmed Zuhair, Khalifa Yousif Mubarak, Shaikha Ahmed Mubarak, and Maryam Salman Ateeq. The athletics competitions are set to begin on October 23.
Head coach Saad Shaddad explained that the team has been following a rigorous training plan. This included local training camps to improve both the physical fitness and technical skills of the athletes. Shaddad praised the athletes for their high level of dedication and determination to perform at their best during the Games.
He highlighted that the Asian Youth Games are an ideal platform for Bahrain’s young athletes to measure themselves against some of the best performers in the region. Shaddad expressed strong confidence in the team’s ability to deliver impressive performances and gain valuable competitive experience.
The coach also emphasized that the main goal of the team is to represent Bahrain with honour and compete for top positions. He believes that the athletes have the potential to achieve new milestones and contribute to Bahrain’s already strong record in regional and international athletics.
This participation is not only about winning medals but also about building experience and confidence among Bahrain’s young sports talents. The athletes are motivated to learn, grow, and bring pride to their country through hard work, teamwork, and dedication.
With the start of the athletics events approaching on October 23, Bahrain’s young athletes are ready to put their training into action and demonstrate their skills on the Asian stage. The nation hopes that their strong performances will continue to strengthen Bahrain’s reputation in athletics and inspire the next generation of sports enthusiasts.
