Zarine Khan, Cherished Matriarch of Bollywood, Passes at Age 81

Zarine Khan, the cherished wife of veteran actor Sanjay Khan and mother of renowned designer Sussanne Khan, peacefully passed away this morning at her residence in Mumbai. She was 81 years old and had been facing health challenges related to aging.

Survived by her husband Sanjay Khan and children Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and Zayed Khan, Zarine was known for her poise and nurturing spirit, playing a pivotal role in the lives of her family members.

The love story of Sanjay and Zarine is a celebrated tale. They first crossed paths at a bus stop, quickly fell in love, and wed in 1966. Zarine also made significant contributions to cinema, appearing in notable films like Tere Ghar Ke Saamne and Ek Phool Do Mali.

This year, Sussanne honored her mother’s 81st birthday with a heartfelt video on Instagram showcasing joyful family moments, stating:
"Mama Mia. My My.. what an amazing Mama you are. All that I do and all that I create in my life have to do with the way you formed my heart, my mind, and my grit… I am so honoured and grateful to be your little girl. May the Universe always protect you and keep continuing to spread that Love and the smiles you do… Have the most spectacular year!"

Sussanne Khan, a prominent interior designer, was previously married to Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, with whom she shares two sons, Hrehaan and Hridaan. They married in 2000 and divorced in 2014, continuing to co-parent their children amicably.

Zarine Khan will be fondly remembered not only for her on-screen appearances but also as a devoted mother and an inspirational figure within her family. Her kindness, empathy, and resilience leave an enduring legacy for both her family and all who knew her.
