Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) has signed an important cooperation agreement with the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AGCC). This agreement was signed during the official visit of the ADCCI economic delegation to Berlin, Germany. The main goal of the deal is to strengthen cooperation between the business communities of the UAE and Germany and create more opportunities for trade and investment.

Framework of Cooperation Defined

The agreement sets clear rules for working together, including exchanging information on economic, trade, and investment matters. Both sides will provide support to business delegations and missions. They will also organize joint events such as exhibitions, conferences, and economic forums. These efforts aim to increase collaboration between UAE and German companies and open up new business opportunities.

Focus on Startups and SMEs

A major part of the agreement is supporting startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It will help these businesses access incubator programs and business accelerators, which can guide them to grow faster. The agreement also encourages sharing technical knowledge and expertise to foster innovation and expand business partnerships between the two countries.

Strategic Sectors of Cooperation

The deal focuses on important sectors for both the UAE and Germany. These include renewable energy, digital transformation, smart industry, digital infrastructure, and health technology. Joint working groups will be created to coordinate projects, share expertise, and support companies participating in international economic events. This will help businesses enter new markets and enhance investment opportunities.

Key Signatories of the Agreement

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Khalid bin Hadi, Board Member of Abu Dhabi Chamber, and His Excellency Abdulaziz Al Mikhlafi, Secretary-General of AGCC. The signing was attended by several senior officials, including His Excellency Ahmed Al Attar, UAE Ambassador to Germany, and His Excellency Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director of ADCCI.

UAE Ambassador Highlights Importance of Partnership

Ambassador Ahmed Al Attar said that this agreement is an important step to strengthen economic relations between the UAE and Germany. He added that it shows the trust and cooperation between business communities in both countries. According to him, this partnership will create long-term growth opportunities and serve as a model for combining diplomacy and business to achieve sustainable results.

Abu Dhabi Chamber’s Commitment to Innovation

His Excellency Khalid bin Hadi stated that this agreement is a milestone in the UAE-Germany partnership. He explained that the deal will expand economic cooperation and create a future based on innovation, sustainability, and shared prosperity. By supporting SMEs and entrepreneurs, the agreement will launch new growth initiatives, improve knowledge sharing, and increase cooperation in strategic sectors.

Contribution to Abu Dhabi’s 2025-2028 Roadmap

The cooperation agreement directly contributes to the objectives of Abu Dhabi Chamber's 2025-2028 Roadmap. It strengthens Abu Dhabi’s global position as a trusted hub for investment, technology, and business. The initiative will help companies leverage the UAE’s advanced infrastructure and benefit from opportunities in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

German Chamber Sees New Opportunities

His Excellency Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi emphasized that this cooperation will allow the launch of innovative projects in clean energy, digital transformation, and industrial innovation. He added that the partnership reflects the strong economic ties between the UAE and Germany. German companies will now have better access to Abu Dhabi’s advanced infrastructure and can expand their businesses into international markets.

Mutual Benefits and Long-Term Goals
