Abu Dhabi Customs has been honoured with the Border Innovation Award at the 2026 International Trade Awards, adding another international achievement to its growing list of recognitions.
The awards are organised by the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade in the United Kingdom and recognise organisations that use innovation to improve international trade. Abu Dhabi Customs received the award for its efforts in applying advanced technologies to strengthen the customs ecosystem and enhance the efficiency of cross-border trade.
The award was presented in recognition of TradeChain, Abu Dhabi Customs’ advanced digital platform that connects with blockchain-based trade platforms around the world.
TradeChain has been developed to improve customs operations by increasing the reliability and integrity of trade information. The platform also enables faster and more proactive processing of customs data within a secure digital environment, helping to streamline trade procedures.
The winners of the 2026 International Trade Awards were announced during an official reception held at the House of Lords in London.
The event brought together senior government officials, policymakers and experts from the international trade and customs sectors to celebrate organisations that have made significant contributions to global trade.

Abu Dhabi Customs stated that the award is the result of the continued support of the UAE’s wise leadership and its commitment to adopting the latest digital solutions and advanced technologies.
The organisation said these initiatives contribute to improving the security and resilience of supply chains, facilitating legitimate trade and supporting the sustainable economic development goals of both Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates.
Abu Dhabi Customs also noted that receiving an international award of this level encourages the organisation to continue building a smart and proactive customs ecosystem based on innovation, strategic partnerships and closer cooperation with relevant entities. It added that these efforts will further strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global destination for investment and business.
