H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, received a delegation from AD Ports Group at Al Nakheel Palace in Abu Dhabi. The group was headed by Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, the Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports. The meeting was part of wider efforts to strengthen sustainable development initiatives in the Al Dhafra Region.
Focus on Sustainable Development
During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the progress of several infrastructure projects by AD Ports Group. These projects aim to enhance marine facilities and improve cruise ship services on Sir Bani Yas Island. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the projects are important for creating a development environment that benefits both residents and visitors. He also noted that these initiatives align with Abu Dhabi’s long-term sustainability goals.

Sheikh Hamdan stressed that the projects are being carried out under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The President attaches special importance to sustainable growth across the country, including the Al Dhafra Region. By enabling strategic projects like those on Sir Bani Yas Island, the leadership aims to strengthen the UAE’s position on the global economic map while improving quality of life for citizens.

One of the key goals of these projects is to increase the infrastructure capacity of Sir Bani Yas Island.
