Goldsmiths To Shine At 56th Jewellery Middle East Show

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Emirati Goldsmiths platform, launched by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), is preparing for a strong presence at the 56th Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show. This grand exhibition, organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with support from SCCI, will be held from 24th to 28th September 2025. The platform reflects SCCI’s vision to empower Emirati entrepreneurs, promote innovation, and strengthen their role in the gold and jewellery industry.

Platform With A Purpose

The initiative was created to support Emirati jewellery designers, encourage small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and drive creativity in design, production, and marketing. It also aims to increase the competitiveness of national brands at regional and international levels. Since its launch, the platform has attracted nearly 400 members from across the UAE, proving its growing importance for local talent.

Heritage With Innovation

Designers on this platform showcase stunning collections of gold and diamond jewellery each year. These creations blend modern innovation with authentic Emirati heritage, recognised for their originality, vibrant colours, and exceptional craftsmanship. The designs also reflect a strong cultural identity passed down through generations, making them unique and admired by both local and international audiences.

Building A Global Presence

The Sharjah Chamber has worked to expand the global reach of Emirati Goldsmiths by supporting their participation in world-famous events such as the International Handicrafts Trade Fair in Florence, Italy, and the Japan Jewellery Fair. These international platforms give designers the chance to present their work to global leaders, boosting their exposure and helping them enter new markets. Such efforts are vital in showcasing Emirati creative talent to the world.

Leadership Commitment

Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, highlighted that empowering young national talent is a key priority. He explained that the platform has become a talent incubator hub, supporting SME development and helping Sharjah build a competitive, knowledge-driven economy. He also stressed that SCCI is committed to nurturing creativity not only in jewellery but in other industries such as perfumes and oud, where Emiratis are also excelling.

Comprehensive Support For Designers

According to Mona Sultan Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office of SCCI’s Chairman and head of the platform, the Emirati Goldsmiths initiative turns passion into business success. It provides training, expert consultancy, workshops, and opportunities to participate in global trade fairs. This structured support equips designers to grow their enterprises, commercialise their products, and develop a strong business model based on both heritage and modernity.

Celebrating Creative Success

Over past editions of the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show, many Emirati designers gained recognition for their artistic creations. Among the standout designs were the “Zayed Lantern,” “Palm Necklace,” “Desert Flower,” and “Emirati Dama’a,” which featured traditional “Talli” motifs. These pieces, crafted in gold and decorated with precious stones, represented a perfect mix of authenticity and elegance. Their success highlights the platform’s role in developing world-class jewellery inspired by the UAE’s culture and natural environment.

The Grand Exhibition

The 56th edition of the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show is the largest gold and jewellery trade event in the region. More than 500 local and international exhibitors from 21 countries are expected to participate. Around 1,800 designers, manufacturers, and professionals will gather, making it a major destination for global jewellery industry leaders. This strong presence ensures Emirati Goldsmiths will shine on both regional and international stages.
