The FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 Observation Programme has started in Qatar, bringing together 55 representatives from football associations worldwide. The programme will last five days, offering knowledge sharing and practical experience in organising major football events.
This initiative is run by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and the Qatar Football Association. It aims to share Qatar's extensive experience in hosting large sporting events successfully, including the FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023.
Participants will get first-hand insights from LOC operational teams in areas such as ticketing, security, medical services, and marketing rights. They will also visit key tournament locations, including stadiums, training grounds, the Main Media Centre, and the accreditation centre.
LOC CEO Jassim Al Jassim said, "We created this programme to help federations worldwide learn from Qatar's achievements. Our work in sports and entertainment has become a global benchmark, and we are proud to share it." He added, "Qatar always works to deliver outstanding experiences for fans and athletes. Sharing our expertise is key to creating a long-term legacy that benefits many sectors."
Since the FIFA World Cup 2022, considered one of the best editions ever, Qatar has hosted several major events. These include the first 48-team FIFA U-17 World Cup, using a centralised hosting format with 104 matches at one venue, and the ongoing FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025. Qatar will also host the final three matches of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025, showing its strong organisational skills.
Natasha Al Naber, Competitions Officer at the West Asian Football Federation, said, "Being in Qatar for this knowledge-sharing opportunity is fantastic. Working with the LOC helps us understand how tournaments are run and how different teams work together, which is valuable for our future events."
Norman Gwangwadza, Head of Finance and Administration at the Zimbabwe Football Association, praised Qatar's ability to manage multiple events at the same time. He said, "Qatar is an excellent host. This programme teaches that planning in areas like transportation, procurement, and resource management is key to successful tournaments."
Edna Nisola, Media and Marketing Committee Member from the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association, highlighted learning about fan engagement. She said, "This is a busy football season in Qatar, and seeing how LOC delivers top experiences gives new ideas on improving fan experiences and marketing strategies for future events."
In recent weeks, the LOC also hosted representatives from FIFA World Cup Saudi Arabia 2034 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027. They too learned from Qatar’s successful hosting of the first FIFA World Cup in the Arab world and Middle East, further strengthening global football collaboration.
